San Mateo Deputy Mayor Diane Papan Announces Key Endorsements in Race for California State Assembly

SAN MATEO, CA – San Mateo Deputy Mayor Diane Papan announced additional state, regional and local leaders supporting her candidacy for the newly formed 21st Assembly District, an open seat being vacated by Assemblymember Kevin Mullin. The new District includes the communities of Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Millbrae, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Mateo, and South San Francisco.

“I’m proud to support San Mateo City Councilmember Diane Papan as the next AD21 Assemblymember,” said California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis. “She’ll fight for the prosperity and well-being of all Californians.”

Beside Kounalakis and Cohen, Papan is endorsed by former State Senator Jerry Hill, a majority of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors (Supervisors Groom, Horsley and Slocum), and a rafter of local elected officials from every corner of the district, including Belmont Mayor Julia Mates, Burlingame Mayor Ricardo Ortiz, Millbrae Mayor Anne Oliva, San Bruno Vice Mayor Michael Salazar, and South San Francisco Council Member Mark Addiego among others.
